VW Passat B6

The VW Passat B6 is a five-seater full-size sedan or station wagon car produced from 2005 to 2010. The car belongs to the class D segment.

Design features

The exterior is characterized by smooth, elegant body lines. The radiator grille has a chrome frame. The head optics are made up of blocks that combine straight and round shapes.

Improved materials have been used for the trim, which added elegance to the interior. The volume of storage niches has been increased, and an umbrella holder is provided in the driver's door.

The driver's seat is easily adjustable in 10 positions. The front row of seats is heated. The mirrors are heated and electrically adjustable. There are CD changer switches on the dashboard. The car has satellite radio, an 8-speaker audio system and a navigation system for the top trim. Comfort in the cabin is provided by two-zone climate control.

Wood and aluminum trim is available for the upgraded version. Depending on the configuration, the car has 16, 17 or 18-inch wheels. The car is available in the following trim levels: Trendline, Sports Line, R-LineEdition, Comfort Line, Highline, BlueMotion, R-36, and Individual.

Specifications

VW Passat B6 like the previous generation, is distinguished by its refined design and elegance. The developer has filled the car with advanced technologies and systems. Traditionally, the model has grown in size compared to its predecessor. The model gained 62 mm in length and became 74 mm wider. The body height has also changed by 10 mm. Thanks to the modular design, the trunk can now hold up to 565 liters. The spacious interior can be equated to executive cars.

The engine is located transversely. The engine range includes a 1.6-liter 102-horsepower engine, a 1.4-liter power unit with a capacity of 122hp. Now under the hood, you can see a 2-liter 4-cylinder inline-four engine with a capacity of 200 hp. The power unit is mated to a manual 6-speed transmission. A 6-band Tiptronic automatic transmission is also available.

The strongest model also has an available V-shaped 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3.6 liters. The engine produces 300 horsepower. The car has a fully independent suspension, which provides a high level of controllability. The 4 Motion all-wheel drive system is available as an option.

Security systems

The VW Passat B6 has disc brakes with an automatic brake disc wiping system that keeps the brakes clean even in difficult weather conditions.

The interior is equipped with side airbags and curtains, with optional side airbags for rear-row passengers. The developers have provided a traction control system and directional stabilization.
