VW Passat B7

The VW Passat B7 is a representative of the seventh generation of D-class sedan and wagon models available with front or all-wheel drive. Models in this category remain popular among consumers. The car has received minor changes compared to its predecessor.

The updated model is distinguished by the shape of the headlights and taillights. These changes have created an elegant and prestigious look. Of course, the developers did not refuse to increase the size of the body, as in previous versions. The car has become 4 mm longer and 2 mm taller. The volume of the luggage compartment remained the same.

In the cabin, the developers used high-quality materials for upholstery and trim. The front row seats have been fitted with massagers and are equipped with heating and ventilation systems.

An improved dashboard and multifunctional steering wheel allow you to conveniently reach the switches of all options. A 6.3-inch touchscreen multimedia screen is available as standard. There is an analog clock on the panel. The audio system is represented by 6 speakers, and the use of Android Auto and Apple Car Play applications is available. The cabin has three USB connectors and push-button start. Keyless entry is available.

Technical specifications

The seventh-generation representative is equipped with a wide range of engines. Depending on the configuration, 4-cylinder in-line engines with a displacement of 1.4 liters, 1.8 liters and 2-liter engines are available, with a power of 122, 160 and 211 horsepower, respectively. Front-wheel drive vehicles are equipped with a 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed DSG transmission.

For all-wheel drive models, a more powerful V-shaped 6-cylinder power unit with a displacement of 3.6 liters is available. This engine is capable of delivering 300 hp. The engine is mated to a 6-speed robotic transmission. With such a unit under the hood, the car reaches 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.

Safety and comfort systems

The updated car has become even more reliable and convenient for long trips. Among the updated options are Bluetooth connectivity, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera. The front row of seats is equipped with front and side airbags, as well as side curtains.

Depending on the configuration, the car is equipped with additional features: sports suspension, dual-zone climate control, and a navigation system. The seventh-generation model has an anti-lock braking system, EBD, emergency braking, and stability control.
