VW Passat B8 Owner's Manual ➜ Separation net

The sliding boot floor makes it easier to move  
heavy objects inside the boot.

Shift trunk floor  
— Open the tailgate.  
— Hold down the handle key  
ÿ fig. 176 1 and move the floor along the guides  
forwards or backwards.  
— If necessary, close the tailgate.  
Removing the sliding boot floor  
— Open the tailgate.  
— Hold down the handle button ÿ fig.  
177 1 and remove the floor from the guides by  
pulling up on the handle in the direction of the  
arrows.  
— If necessary, close the tailgate.  
Fitting the sliding boot floor  
Fig. 178 In the boot: hook the partition net.  
— Open the tailgate.  
— Place the sliding floor on the guides with the  
handle facing the loading sill and hold down the  
handle button ÿ fig. 177 1 until the floor is  
positioned correctly on the guides.  
— Check whether the sliding floor can be moved  
correctly on the guides by holding down the handle  
key.  
— If necessary, close the tailgate.  
WARNING  
In the event of a sudden stop or an accident, objects could  
be thrown through the passenger compartment and cause  
serious injury or death.

Hook the separation net

The partition net is correctly installed when the T-

Improper handling of the separation net can cause  
damage.  
· Do not “drop” the separation net when lowering it;  
Otherwise, the net and other parts of the vehicle  
could be damaged. Guide the partition net all the  
way down by hand.  
Roll up the separation net  
— Unhook the crossbar from the seats ÿ fig. 178 3

— Roll the net into the casing 4 guiding it all the way  
down by hand.

Removing the partition net The  
partition net can be removed from the passenger  
compartment or from the boot.  
— If you are going to remove the net from the passenger  
compartment, fold the rear seat backrests forwards ÿ  
p. 99.  
OR: if you are going to remove the net from the suitcase  
ro, remove the boot cover ÿ p. 266.  
— Press the unlock button left or right ÿ fig. 179 1 in  
the direction of the arrow.  
— Remove the casing from the holder in the direction of

— After removal, stow the partition net safely in the boot  
or, depending on equipment, under the boot floor.  
Installing the partition net

The partition net can be installed from the passenger  
compartment or from the boot.  
— If you are installing the net from the passenger  
compartment, fold the rear seat backrests forwards  
ÿ p. 99.  
OR: if you are installing the net from the boot,  
remove the boot cover ÿ p. 266.  
— Place the deck on the left and right brackets.

— Press the casing into the left and right brackets in the  
opposite direction of the arrow ÿ fig. 179 2 . The  
casing fits.

— Open the right rear door.  
— Fold the rear seat backs forward.
