Secure a child seat with the seat belt  
Please note and  
at the beginning of this chapter, on page 62.  
If you want to use a child seat with universal approval (u) in the  
vehicle, make sure that it is approved for the seats in question.  
You will find the necessary information on this on the label  
Orange ECE approval label on the child seat. In the following  
table you can consult the possibilities of mounting the seat.

Securing a child seat with the seat belt  
— Attach the seat belt and route it through the child seat according  
to the seat manufacturer's instructions.  
— Observe and follow the instructions ÿ p. 64.  
— Make sure the seat belt is not twisted.  
— Adjust the height of the seat belt so that the webbing of the  
seat belt fits the child seat naturally, without deviating too  
much.  
— Insert the belt tongue into the appropriate seat belt buckle until  
it clicks into place.  
For rear-facing child seats, set the seat belt height adjuster to  
its lowest position.

For your own safety and that of your companions, take into  
account the following points in the order indicated ÿ :

Extinguisher  
Depending on the equipment, a fire extinguisher can  
be housed in a support in the passenger footrest  
area, under the seat.  
The extinguisher must comply with the legal

checked regularly (see inspection label on the  
extinguisher).  
WARNING  
Objects not secured to the vehicle could be thrown  
from the passenger compartment in the event of a
