For an automatic intervention on the brakes, the following
requirements must be met: — The vehicle does not exceed
10 km/h (6 mph) approx. when maneuvering.

Problems and solutions
Maneuvering with the trailer maneuvering assistant (Trailer
Assist)
The parking system behaves differently than expected
An automatic intervention of the brakes may occur in the
following situations:
There can be several causes:
— The speed is exceeded.
— System requirements are not met ÿ p. 188.
— The driver intervenes in the direction.
— The driver's door is open.
— Dirty or icy sensors or camera ÿ p. 369.
- The key
is pressed.
Then brake the vehicle yourself.
— The camera lens is not clean and the image from the camera
is not clear ÿ p. 369.
WARNING
— Some noise sources, such as a jackhammer
cobbled road, interfere with the ultrasound signal.
Do not let the automatic intervention of the brakes in the
parking systems induce you to take risks that compromise
safety.
— The vehicle has some type of damage in the area of the
sensors or the camera, e.g. e.g., due to a bump when parking.
In some situations automatic brake intervention may only
work to a limited extent or not at all. Collisions against
obstacles can cause personal injury and damage to the
vehicle. The system cannot replace the driver's attention.
— The detection zone of the sensors or the field of view of the
camera are blocked by some accessory, e.g. For example,
a bicycle rack system.
— Paintwork or structural changes have been made in the
area of the sensors or camera, e.g. e.g. at the front of the
vehicle or on the running gear.
